Our Story

The Hughes name has been recognised since the 1700’s for quality stonework throughout Ireland and abroad. 

Thomas Hughes Founded Hughes Stoneworks in Wexford in 1898 at 18 years of age, his brother Edward Hughes ran Hughes Sculptors in Carlow and his nephew Eamonn Hughes made the name well known establishing a stoneworks in Thurles, all still thriving today. 

Hughes Stoneworks began printing Memorial cards in 1990 and expanded and has since grown Hughes Signs and Print which to this day, still serves the people of Wexford and further afield for what is now four generations in Wexford.

With centuries of experience, we pride ourselves on honouring cherished memories and preserving legacies. Our commitment to quality and compassionate service remains unchanged, ensuring every piece we create, carries the timeless essence of your loved ones memories.

How do I order?​

First, select the card type and design that you want. Then, choose your verse. After that, fill in all the necessary information regarding your order. Finally, proceed to checkout and confirm order.

Yes, a proof of the card will be emailed to you before we print it. We ask that you carefully read through the proof and notify us of any changes as soon as possible.

Yes, we supply high quality envelopes for all your cards.

Proofs will be sent the same day of orders placed on Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. For any orders placed after 4pm, proof will be sent the next day. For any orders placed Saturday or Sunday, proof will be sent on Monday.

Proofs will be sent to your email within 24-48 hours Monday to Friday
